ERGaR at the International Biogas Congress & Expo (10-11/10/2018) Berlin

Berlin, October 2018 – Brought to you by Bioenergy Insight, the leading biogas industry publication, his two-day conference will bring together leading producers, stakeholders and companies within the biogas sector. The International Biogas Congress & Expo will look closely at the different opportunities and avenues currently present in the biogas industry as the sector begins to explore a post-subsidy future. ERGaR will be featured with a speech during this high-level event.

The event will feature speakers from across the sector, including experts from major companies such as Gasum, Nature Energy and E.ON Erdgas. A key focus of the first day of the conference will be the European biomethane sector. Mette Hansvik, Head of Origination Gas at Ørsted, will provide expert analysis on the European Biomethane Market, looking at value chains as well as challenges and trends. Zoltan Elek, CEO of Landwärme, will look at both the opportunities and challenges for biomethane in German and European legislation. This will include a specific look at Germany’s Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), and the updated EU Renewable Energy Directive (REDII).

Day two of the event will see Matthias Edel, ERGaR Board Member and Team Leader Bioenergy at the German Energy Agency, dena, discuss the potential for biogas trading across borders in Europe, a key issue for the development of the industry.

Throughout the two days, experts from across the industry will look at connections between biogas and circular economy. Bojan Ribić, department head at Zagreb City Holding, co-ordinator of the EU Bin2Grid project, and member of the PPI4Waste and the ongoing REEF2W EU projects, will evaluate the potential of sustainable biogas in urban areas. Håvard Wollan, CEO of Biokraft will discuss the potential of liquid biogas in decarbonising transport.
