Brussels, July 2024
On 26 June, we held the kick-off meeting for the Biogenic CO2 Certification topic, co-organised with several other European associations interested in advancing this topic on the European agenda.
Although the topic might be relatively new, it was great to see a high level of participation and engagement during the panel discussions and breakout sessions.
The first panel set the scene for the discussions that followed. Participants then moved to breakout sessions, where they had the opportunity to discuss various aspects of certification in detail. The event concluded with a panel debate on trading biogenic CO2.
Many thanks to Simona Vackeova (ePURE: European renewable ethanol association), Anastasiya Agapova (European Biogas Association), Maximilian Kūhn, PhD (Hydrogen Europe) for setting the scene in a panel debate moderated by Tudy Bernier from CO2 Value Europe.
Our thanks also go to Victor Bernabeu (Eurogas) for moderating the second panel on the trading aspect and to the great insights provided by Dan Owen (Coca-Cola Europacific Partners), Reinhard Klimeck (Nature Energy), Nicolas Jensen (TES) and Marco Centurioni from the STX Group.
As well as to Julian Beatty (Nova Q Ltd) and Sandrine Devos (European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA)) for facilitating the break-out sessions.
Last but not least, to our Secretary General, Tim Hamers for putting this all together and to all the participants for their interest and engagement in the discussions.
We will continue the discussions on the topic together with all interested stakeholders.
