Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol Webinar

The Greenhouse Gas Protocol standards and guidance have a major impact on biomethane (certificate) voluntary market. However, the role of biomethane certificates remains ambiguous. The ongoing revision of the GHG Protocol guidance provides an excellent opportunity to provide more clarity and allow the use of biomethane certificates within the GHG Protocol framework. As part of the discussion, the European Biogas Association (EBA), Eurogas, European Renewable Gas Registry (ERGaR), Coalition for Renewable Natural Gas (RNG Coalition) and World Biogas Association (WBA) organise a webinar on the role of biomethane within the GHG Protocol.

The webinar will take place on 10 February from 16.00 to 17.30 CET and all interested stakeholders are invited.

During the webinar there will be a discussion with speakers representing different sides such as producers, traders and off-takers on how biomethane (certificates) can be accounted within the GHG Protocol framework. Furthermore, S&P Global Commodity Insights will present their report on Renewable gas tracking systems and the value of biomethane/RNG certificates (more information here).

A detailed agenda will be shared later.
