The European Renewable Gas Registry (ERGaR) is the association dedicated to enabling cross-border trade of renewable gas certificates across Europe.
Our Story
ERGaR was established in Ghent on 28 September 2016 by national renewable gas registries and industry representatives.
Its mission: to make cross-border transactions in renewable gas a reality.
Today, ERGaR acts as the European association for all stakeholders in the biomethane certification supply chain.
Our Members
ERGaR brings together 45 members from 14 countries, spanning national registries, gas DSOs and TSOs, environmental commodities traders, and trade associations.
This diverse membership provides a trusted platform for collaboration across the renewable gas sector.
Our Role in Europe
ERGaR serves as a bridge between industry and European Institutions.
We actively participate in consultations and collaborate with partners to strengthen the renewable gas market.
Looking Ahead
The European Commission has set a 2030 target of producing 35 billion cubic meters of biomethane in Europe.
ERGaR is committed to contributing to this goal by building trust, fostering collaboration, and advancing renewable gas certification across borders.rtification across borders
